Give them something to talk about.

Last week, my oldest went to VBS at our church for the first time.

And when I say I was BLOWN AWAY - I was blown away.

It was so, so good. It was all on the liturgical year, and each day they "celebrated" and learned about a different season.

Some VBS camps can feel "fluffy" - this was anything but.

They really learned so much, but it was also so much fun -

Themed camp song, daily saint and Bible verse, tons of crafts and little gifts to take home, Adoration every day...not to mention literally dozens of volunteers, many of them teenagers:

The amount of love that was poured into every single detail of the week was truly beautiful.

You could tell how much everyone was just bursting with the joy of Jesus and sharing Him with the children in a way that would last longer than the week.

Why do I share all of that? (Besides to brag on my church because I just love it so much.)

Because sometimes the best marketing you'll ever do isn't marketing at all - it's just being awesome at what you do.

Being so incredible and infectiously sharing the love of Jesus through the talents He's given you.

Because that's memorable, and people will want to talk about it.

You can be sure I'll be telling all my friends about our parish's camp next year.

Not because they asked me to. But simply because people like to share good things.

So be who God meant you to be, and you'll set the world on fire...and people won't be able to wait to talk about it.

For His greater glory,

Emily

I got an email from one of my favorite Catholic shops last week. "One-day only birthday sale!" The problem? I read that email while holding a squirmy baby in one arm and shooing my toddler out the door so we wouldn't be late picking his older sister up from Vacation Bible School. Oh, I'll look at this later, I thought. You want to know when I remembered? The next night. After the sale was over. Because that was the only email the shop sent about it, and I was so scattered when I read the...
